Early Childhood Education Center

At Amandla, children from 3 months through Kindergarten attend the licensed child development center. Activities in the center and in the individual classes include story reading, nursery rhymes, poetry and songs, shapes, letter and number recognition, coloring and cutting, size sequencing, concepts of same/different/opposite, the five senses and other areas. Our Americorps volunteers work with pre-school and school-age children, increasing the individualized attention to address emergent literacy levels and assisting with the transition from kindergarten to first grade.

Our Early Childhood Education Center, affords our resident adults the opportunity to participate in our on-site adult educational classes, vocational training, job placement classes, interviews and other activities that will ensure future success and independence.
